What is the best LED emergency lighting?

The best LED lighting for your premises depends on the space, its use, and safety regulations. Our lighting advisors and project managers have extensive experience with emergency lighting and will help you achieve a safe, reliable, and compliant solution; from escape routes and emergency exits to open spaces and technical areas. We guide you through the entire process: from advice and lighting design to delivery and installation.

Below you will find some guidelines specific to emergency lighting.Of course, we will tailor everything to your location, building layout, and safety regulations:

- Color temperature: usually around 4000K: bright white light that ensures maximum visibility in emergency situations.

- Beam angle: use 90º or more for a wide light distribution, so that escape routes and exits remain clearly visible.

- Color rendering (CRI): choose CRI70 or higher: sufficient to clearly distinguish obstacles, signage, and markings.

- Light output: on average, we recommend fixtures of 100–500 lumens, depending on the application, from marker fixtures at emergency exits to functional lighting along escape routes and assembly points.

Step 1: Introduction

During this conversation, we will discuss your requirements, type of business, and work environment. This gives us a clear picture of your goals and lighting needs. Step 2: Create a light calculation

Once we understand your situation, our lighting advisor will create a technical lighting calculation in Dialux. This plan includes a floor plan with the exact positions, light intensities, and beam angles of the fixtures. This allows you to see what the final result will look like in advance and which lighting is technically the most efficient. The lighting plan is not only the basis for the desired result but also a practical tool for the installer during installation.

Step 3: Discuss the lighting plan

After the initial version of the lighting plan, we will discuss all the details together. We will demonstrate how the lighting optimizes your workspace in terms of light level, energy savings, and comfort. During this consultation, you can provide feedback or add specific requirements. Step 4: Create a quote

With the final lighting plan, we select the LED fixtures that best match your requirements, budget, and desired quality. We work exclusively with reliable brands and energy-efficient products that meet current standards. Our quote provides you with a clear overview of the investment, savings, and expected lifespan, so you know exactly what to expect.

Step 5: Delivery and Installation

Upon your approval, we will schedule the delivery of the products at your desired time. Do you not have an installer yet? We are happy to assist you through our network of experienced professionals. If you already have your own installer, we will ensure they receive all the necessary technical information. This ensures the installation proceeds smoothly, safely, and according to plan, allowing you to immediately benefit from optimal LED commercial lighting.

Is noodverlichting verplicht in winkels en bedrijfsruimtes?

Ja, volgens het geldende normenkader (zoals NEN‑EN 1838 / bouw-/veiligheidsvoorschriften) is noodverlichting verplicht als vluchtwegen, nooduitgangen of werkruimtes bij uitval van de reguliere verlichting onveilig zouden worden.

Wanneer schakelt noodverlichting in?

Noodverlichting gaat automatisch aan zodra de reguliere verlichting wegvalt (bij stroomuitval). Daardoor blijven vluchtwegen, uitgangen en veiligheidsvoorzieningen zichtbaar, essentieel voor veilige evacuatie.

Hoe lang moet noodverlichting blijven branden bij uitval?

Volgens norm en praktijk moet noodverlichting voldoende helder blijven tijdens evacuatie. Vaak is minimaal 1 uur vereist, afhankelijk van het type gebruik en gebouw; bij grotere publieke of bedrijfsruimtes kunnen langere tijden gelden.

Waar moet noodverlichting geplaatst worden in een gebouw?

Noodverlichting moet aanwezig zijn bij alle nooduitgangen, vluchtwegen, trappenhuizen, gangen, verzamelplaatsen en bij kritieke veiligheidsvoorzieningen zoals brandblussers of alarmsystemen.

Waarom LED noodverlichting kiezen boven traditionele verlichting?

LED-noodverlichting is energiezuinig, onderhoudsarm en betrouwbaar, zelfs bij frequent gebruik of lange brandduur. Daarnaast schakelt LED snel in, is vaak compacter en biedt het goede lichtkwaliteit, wat belangrijk is bij evacuaties.
