Buy Philips LED Recessed Spotlights
A lower energy bill and a cleaner world, this is possible thanks to the Philips LED spotlights. That seems impossible. However, if we were to decide en masse to switch to LED lighting, it is certainly achievable. LED spots are known for their high light output in combination with low power consumption and virtually no heat development. Did you know that an LED Spot has on average 15 to 50 times more burning hours than an incandescent lamp, burns three to eight times longer than a halogen lamp and even has a significantly longer lifespan than an energy-saving lamp? In addition, an LED spot provides a high light output and these are available in all light colours and intensities that other light sources also offer. What do Philips LED Recessed Spots consist of?
We call a recessed spot without a lamp a fixture. If it includes a lamp, we refer to it as a complete recessed spot. The Philips LED recessed spots can be divided into two types:
Philips Recessed Spot Including Light Source
With a complete set of Philips LED recessed spots you are ready to go straight away. You receive the fixture, the light source and the fitting. This allows you to place and install the recessed spot immediately. In addition, you can create beautiful lighting designs with them and they are also available with a low installation height. Most Philips LED Recessed Spots are dimmable with a 220V LED Dimmer.
Philips LED Recessed Spots Without Light Source
These wall and ceiling lights are supplied without a light source. When purchasing a fixture, the lamp is not included as standard. Depending on the model, the fitting is suitable for a GU10 spot, MR16 LED lamp or an LED module. Our Philips LED spots with a replaceable lamp, such as the basic white Philips recessed spot, are lower priced than lighting fixtures with a fixed lamp.
A standard spot fixture consists of a housing with spring clips. You can order the fitting and connecting cable separately. You can also purchase a dimmer with it. The advantage of dimmable Philips recessed spots is that you can set the desired light intensity yourself. This makes them ideal above a dining table. If you need to review some documents, a high light output is very convenient. However, for a cosy drink or dinner, the light can be a little less bright.A dimmable LED recessed spotlight then provides the solution.
How do you install Philips LED recessed spots?
Installing spot lighting is a rewarding task that you can easily do yourself. It is best to have all the tools you need ready in advance.- Required tools: Pencil, drill/screwdriver, wire stripper, 2 terminal blocks (connector) and a power cable.
- Open the packaging and read the installation instructions. The dimensions indicated on the installation guide can often be used as a template.
- Once you have marked everything, cut out the recess. Ensure there is at least 35 cm of space between the recessed spots.
- Run the 220-240V mains cable to the hole and, if there is a dimmer, also run a cable for that.
- Before connecting the cables to the mains, switch off the power supply.
- Using the wire connectors or terminal block, assemble the fitting or supply cable, matching color to color. If it is a spotlight with a transformer, connect it to the mains and then connect the fitting to the driver.
- Switch the power on and check whether the spotlight lights up and whether any dimmer is functioning.
