Which light color/light temperature (Kelvin) do I need?
Color temperature and light color are two different terms that are closely related. This is not always straightforward, as these two terms are often confused. On this page, we aim to clarify the meaning of these two terms and what you should pay attention to when purchasing LED lighting.
Light Color

Light color is, as the term suggests, the color of the light. Although these colors can be indicated in many different ways (Hexadecimal, RGB, CMYK), it is usually kept simple by displaying the color name (red, blue, green). With LED lighting, it is often the case that one speaks of RGB lighting (Red, Green, Blue), which means that all colors from the visible light spectrum can be displayed.Depending on the type of lamp, this can be changed using a remote control, button, or program.
This RGB lighting often contains three different LED diodes: one for the color red, one for the color green, and one for the color blue. With these three diodes, it is possible to produce all the different colors of visible light, as can be seen in the adjacent image. The color we perceive is determined by the intensity at which each diode shines. When the three diodes shine at the same intensity, a white light is produced.
Color Temperature
Kelvin is used to indicate the color temperature of a light source. The color temperature is one of the most important factors when it comes to creating atmosphere in your home. The lower the color temperature, the warmer the light is.The image below shows some practical examples with the corresponding light temperature expressed in Kelvin (K). Our LED lighting is available between 2700K and 6500K.
