Direct light. 12-volt LED ground spots are extremely suitable as functional garden lighting. For example, for illuminating a driveway or garden path.
Indirect light. Indirect lighting adds romance to your garden.Your garden will appear larger when you position the 12-volt LED ground spot lights to shine against the bottom of a staircase or along a border wall. This spatial effect can be particularly useful in a small garden.
Diffused light. Ground spots that provide diffused light are fitted with a cap or a special lens over the LED lamp. This spreads the light evenly, creating soft shadows.
How do you install 12V LED ground spots for outdoor use?
The description below applies to all types of 12-volt garden lighting, including for example 12 Volt wall lights. Depending on the type of ground spot you purchase, each one comes with instructions specifying the diameter to cut in a decking plank or the space to create in a paved surface. You can also install the fixtures of a ground spotlight in a decorative element or place them in a holder with a ground pin. It then becomes a so-called spike spotlight.
Step 1. If you have purchased a complete set, carefully remove it from the packaging. If the cables become tangled immediately, they can become damaged.
Step 2. Give the transformer a fixed location near a power outlet, where it is not in the way and remains dry.
Step 3. Unroll the cables to where you had planned the ground spotlights.
Step 4. Position the ground spotlight fixtures in or on the substrate where you want them, but do not screw them in yet.

Step 5. Connect the cables to one another and finally connect everything to the transformer.
Step 6. Plug the transformer into the power outlet and check the lights.
Step 7. If everything is working, you can secure the ground spotlights in their final position. If one or more lamps are not illuminated, check whether all 12 Volt accessories are properly connected.
Step 8. Conceal the cables. If possible, do this along the edges to minimise the risk of hitting a cable while gardening.
